Film about Kazakh muse of Christian Dior screened in Berlin

A documentary about the life of a muse of the famous French fashion designer Christian Dior, a model of Kazakh ancestry – Alla Ilchun was presented in the capital of Germany. Foreign nationals and Kazakhs living abroad gathered to watch the film. After the screening, viewers were able to find out how the film was shot and where it is possible to watch it. This year, the creators plan to show the film about Alla Ilchun in Italy, Austria and the United Kingdom. They also plan to make a feature film.

“This is Kazakhstan’s contribution to the world's fashion. There is a lot of work to do, and we are pleased that we could revive the name of Alla Ilchun. The hardest thing is to search for information and chronicle. The House of Dior does not have it, so that we had to find this chronicle in seven countries and purchase it. We also had to buy photographs to be convincing and show everything vividly. In a word, we made it, it’s over now. Most importantly, the House of Dior recognized the work,” said Berlin Irishev, film director.

In addition, on this day, musicians from Kazakhstan and Berlin organized a concert. They performed the works of Kazakh and foreign composers. This is the first cultural event for Kazakh compatriots abroad that took place after the easing of quarantine.

“Today is a big day. First of all, this is a holiday of Kazakh music and Kazakh culture. The audience likes Kazakh folk instruments very much, and is interested in Kazakh composers. Visitors came from Vienna, Paris and Kazakhstan,” said Aiken Aitbai, musician.
