2021 to become breakthrough year for “Academy of NGOs”

This year, almost 800 non-governmental organizations in Kazakhstan will be trained as part of the large-scale project ‘Academy of NGOs”, wherein the particular attention will be paid to trainings for Kazakh-speaking associations. This was discussed during online conference “The role of science in the development of civil society”. The project was first launched in a pilot mode in 2020. According to representatives of the initiative group, it will become a breakthrough in the future.

“A research was launched this year to determine the needs of the civil sector in educational services. According to this research, educational courses and methodology of the curriculum will be developed, which will later become the basis of the “Academy of NGOs”. I hope that thanks to the online format of the trainings, the Academy will cover more public organizations, including in the regions of our country,” said Lima Dias, Chairperson of the Civil Initiatives Support Center.

As Lima Dias noted, the event will allow not only assessing the current condition of the civil sector, increasing the potential and competence of managers and employees of NGOs, but also jointly developing measures and ways to improve the system of lifelong education. The event took place in Nur-Sultan and was held in conjunction with the Scientist Day.
