Presentation of ‘Abai’ book-album takes place in Nur-Sultan

A book-album dedicated to the great Kazakh poet Abai was presented in Nur-Sultan. The publication includes fine art works reflecting the life and work of the philosopher. The book illustrates paintings and sketches by contemporary artists, as well as artists of the last century. The book-album was published in English and had been previously presented in Turkey. The goal of the project is to acquaint a large audience with Abai’s work through the prism of artistic perception. Over the years of independence, the masterpieces of the Kazakh literature have been widely presented to the foreign public, many works of the Kazakh poets and writers have been translated into foreign languages.

“Turkish professionals worked on this project. They did a tremendous job! They collected the most valuable museum and archival materials, including works of the best and famous artists. This book can be called a true encyclopedia. This is indeed a great achievement in the history of the Turkic world. Popularization of the Abai phenomenon is important not only for the Turkic peoples, but for all humankind,” said Serik Negimov, Professor at Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
