22 schools under quarantine in Nur-Sultan

More than 20 schools remain under the quarantine in Kazakhstan’s capital. Nur-Sultan is currently in the red zone in terms of the COVID-19 spread. According to the city’s Chief Sanitary Doctor, the total number of coronavirus cases among students has exceeded 1,200 in the capital. The education department reminded parents and children to remember about safety measures during the upcoming spring break, which will last from March 20 to 31. Students take summative assessment per section and summative assessment per quarter before the end of the third quarter. A teacher can divide the each assessment method into two stages if necessary. More than 85,000 children in primary school are currently studying offline. Graduating classes continue to study in a combined format. The education department recalled in what cases schools can be placed under the quarantine. It will happen if more than three cases of COVID-19 are detected in an educational facility. 89 educational institutions have been placed under the quarantine since the beginning of the academic year.
