WHO director-general arrives in Kazakhstan on unofficial visit

Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus arrived in Almaty on an unofficial visit. He together with Kazakh Health Minister Azhar Giniyat, visited the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. The WHO chief got acquainted with the history of the university, its contribution to the development of healthcare and the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. In turn, Giniyat spoke about the implementation of the national project ‘Healthy Nation’ and briefed on the ministry’s tasks until 2025.
