Kazakhstan-Iran: 30 years of cooperation

Kazakhstan will introduce a two-week visa-free regime for Iranian citizens. This was announced at the summit talks during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Iran. The parties agreed to strengthen the trade and economic cooperation. The countries also have great opportunities in the transport and logistics sphere, in particular in building the capacity of the railway line ‘Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan – Iran.’ The first container train from our country to Turkey through Iran was launched during the visit of President Tokayev. The parties also stressed a high potential of sea ports’ transit and export on the Caspian Sea - Aktau and Kuryk, Amirabad and Anzali. As a result of negotiations, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ebrahim Raisi signed a joint statement aimed at facilitating the bilateral cooperation to a new level.
