Domestic tourism in Kazakhstan beats pre-coronavirus figures

Kazakh residents increasingly began traveling around Kazakhstan. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, nine million people visited picturesque landscapes of the country in 2021, which is 12.6 percent more than in 2020 and almost 5 percent more than in the pre-coronavirus 2019. They went for a rest, treatment, visiting relatives, and so on. Speaking of outbound tourism, almost 880,000 Kazakh citizens went abroad in 2021. This figure is nearly 3.5 times less than pre-pandemic one.
