Bolashak Scholarship Programme refocuses on technical professions

The number of grants for technical and IT professions under the Bolashak Scholarship Programme will increase to 60 percent this year. This is one of the additional measures to support applicants, the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science reported. Besides, the IELTS average score was reduced for candidates in technical areas. It is also planned to expand opportunities for applicants from rural areas. For example, the requirement will be lowered for the English language skills and for the period of compulsory residence in rural areas from three years to two. According to the Centre for International Programs, the process of refocusing the Bolashak Programme has begun on behalf of the Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
