Gratitude Day – symbol of unity of Kazakhstan people

A holiday of peace, harmony, friendship and kindness! The Day of Gratitude is a tribute to the universal history and a symbol of the unity of the multinational people of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh experience of the Peoples’ Assembly is an example for the whole world. More than 130 nationalities live in the country to date. Over many years, this day has become a kind of measure of benevolent and trusting relationships between citizens of the state and a good tradition for all residents, says Natalya Kalashnikova, head of the Kazakhstan’s Ethnic Assembly department at the Eurasian National University.

“This day is associated with the memory of ethnic groups that in those early years were forcibly immigrated and resettled in Kazakhstan,” she noted. “Today, the leaders of ethno-cultural associations of the scientific and expert community talk about that process, about that century at all platforms, including scientific and expert ones. They emphasize the memory that needs to be preserved, those words of gratitude that are expressed today by absolutely all ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan.”
