Digitalization of monitoring. The main supervisory control department will be created in the system of the customs service of Kazakhstan, which automates this work. All this will be possible thanks to the use of artificial intelligence. Now, the control procedures will be carried out remotely. Now, for these purposes, work is underway to modernize the infrastructure of nine automobile and one railway points. They will be equipped with modern instruments for scanning and measuring vehicles. The project is planned to be implemented by the end of 2024. As a result, the capacity of the points will increase up to seven times, and the transit time will be reduced to 2.5 times, experts say. This year, the centralization of customs functions in terms of the issuance and control of declarations for goods has been fully launched. In addition, electronic and situational centers are being opened. Since the beginning of their work, more than 28,000 violations have been revealed, 23 billion tenge (US$53.6 million) has been additionally collected to the budget. In general, thanks to the improvement of the customs supervision system, it was possible to increase the receipt of value-added tax by 1.5 times.

“As for the digitalization of customs administration, first of all, work is underway to improve the information systems ‘Astana-1’ and ‘E-Tereze’. To date, 100 percent of customs declarations are submitted remotely. More than 4 million customs declarations were issued. 82 percent of them were carried out automatically within one minute. The time for submitting documents has been halved. Now with "customs clearance" they can be obtained remotely. To date, about 5,000 users have been registered, 15 integrations with government agencies have been carried out,” said Yerulan Zhamaubayev, Kazakh Minister of Finance.
