9,900 people detained, Kazakh Interior Ministry says

Around 10,000 people were detained on suspicion of involvement in riots. According to the emergency response headquarters of the Kazakh Interior Ministry, 1,237 people were taken to the police in Almaty. Over 30 bladed weapons and 1,428 rounds of ammunition were seized from them. 38 people were arrested at checkpoints. During search operations in Taraz, law enforcement officers confiscated the Makarov pistol, bullets to it, armor and air gun.
