Kazakh citizens travel abroad for New Years

The New Year is just days away. And while most Kazakh citizens plan to spend the long-awaited holidays traditionally at home with their loved ones, there are also residents who plan to travel abroad. According to Inna Rey, President of the Association of Tour Operators of Kazakhstan, most of the travel packages were purchased to the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Goa and Thailand. She recommends travelers not to forget about safety measures at this difficult time.

“There is still some time left until the New Year holidays. We cannot make final predictions yet. In any case, Kazakh residents will be able to go on vacation to warm countries. The United Arab Emirates is already increasing the number of flights. It is also important to get a tour code. After that, travelers should not forget about their life insurance,” said Inna Rey, President of the Association of Tour Operators of Kazakhstan

In addition, domestic tourism is actively developing in Kazakhstan. From January to September, four million people traveled within the country. This is 5 percent more than last year. The popularity of the Almaty mountain cluster was particularly high. It received about 870,000 people during this period. The second most popular tourist destination is Lake Alakol. Mangystau region follows with its seaside resorts and thermal springs. The Shchuchinsk-Burabai resort area and East Kazakhstan region are also among the top five most popular destinations.
