Seven facets of the Great Steppe: Siberian Ulus and Taibuga in history of Kazakhstan

A scientific and practical conference “Siberian ulus and Taibuga in the history of Kazakhstan” was held in the capital of Nur-Sultan. Its participants discussed the role of uluses in the formation of Kazakh statehood. One of the largest influential ethnic groups in the history of our country was the Taibuga ulus and the founders of the Khanate of Sibir. Today, historical facts about them attract the attention of the scientific community. Taibuga Khan was one of the famous commanders, a participant of the great campaigns of Batu Khan. He was a contemporary of Genghis Khan, Jochi Khan, and the main support of the Golden Horde. His contribution to the development of our country’s statehood is enormous, experts say.

“The purpose of this conference is to convey to the people that we had great figures. 400 foreign, European, Russian sources admit that Taibuga reached Europe with Batu Khan and conquered half the world,” said Assylkhan Igibayev, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, ‘Tugurul Han – On Han’ Corporate Foundation.
