Travel brand: lotus blooms in Atyrau

The lotus bloomed in Atyrau region. Scientists have long proven that the sap of this exotic plant is very healthy for the kidneys and spleen. The flower, also known as the Nelumbo nucifera, covers five hectares of the river Kigash. The amazing flower that has become a symbol of purity and beauty blooms from mid-July to late August. Tourists from Russia, Georgia and other countries came to admire it. This year, the number of travelers decreased because of the closed borders due to the pandemic. However, local residents made it traditional to visit the banks of the river and contemplate the natural beauty of the lotus.

“We came here on purpose, to admire. Tourists come to the river Kigash. We should value the special gifts of the nature. This flower should be preserved for future generations,” said the city resident Tilekkabyl Gumarov.
