Kazakhstan wins total 8 bronze medals at Tokyo Olympics 2020

The 32nd Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo have crossed the finish line. For the first time in history, Kazakh athletes didn’t win either Gold or Silver. The country has earned eight bronze medals. On the third step of the medal podium were the judoka Yeldos Smetov, weightlifters Igor Son and Zulfiya Chinshanlo, boxers Kamshybek Kunkabayev and Saken Bibossynov, wrestler Nurislam Sanayev and karate fighters Darkhan Asadilov and Sofya Berultseva. Thus, the national team of Kazakhstan ranks 83rd in the Olympic medal count. A total of 97 athletes from Kazakhstan competed at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, representing the country in 27 sports. The next Summer Olympic Games will be held in the French capital in 2024.
