Aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Ireland sign cooperation agreements

Kazakhstan will learn from the best experience of the aviation authorities of Ireland. The countries have recently signed cooperation agreements, as part of which experts of the Irish aviation regulator will help their Kazakh colleagues develop and introduce European standards. The foreign experts will also conduct technical consultations and training of aviation inspectors of Kazakhstan. This was stated by Director General of the Kazakhstan’s Aviation Administration Peter Griffiths. He said that the signing of the agreements demonstrates the progress made by the state in increasing the level of flight safety in the country. Moreover, Kazakhstan will be able to approach an important goal of achieving 80 percent of compliance with the requirements of ICAO, the most authoritative, effective and representative international organization in the civil aviation field.

“Ireland has advanced experience at doing this sort of work, because they have a very large fleet of aircrafts, which are employed by companies all over the world. So Irish leasing companies and Irish operators are meant to be able to operate internationally. The compliance level for Ireland against ICAO requirements is also extremely high, it’s 92 percent. Most importantly, because step 68 requires us to operate a UK style model, is important that we use the country, which is not only part of the European Union, but also operates the same way that the UK operates its regulator,” said Peter Griffiths.
