Senate ratified agreement on mutual legal assistance of CIS countries

The exchange of personal data on legal grounds. Today the Senate of Kazakh Parliament ratified an agreement regarding mutual legal assistance on administrative matters. This means that from now on, specialists from different CIS countries will be able to send each other information about the presence or absence of citizenship, migration registration status, visa issuance, identity verifying documents and other important data if necessary.

“Besides that, the agreement provides for a creation of additional conditions to confirm the identity of a person in case of loss of identity documents obtained in another country, as well as to establish the place of residence of a person abroad. It is also possible to obtain the information about the prosecution of persons committing an administrative or criminal offense, this data can be issued as part of the provision of legal assistance,” said Marat Kozhayev, Kazakh First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.
