Kazakhstan approves National Development Plan until 2025

In accordance with the Decree of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the country’s National Development Plan until 2025 was approved. The document defines the main tasks and parameters of the country’s new economic course, as well as reflects the strategic vision for the development of the most important industries, guidelines for improving key policies aimed at leveling the consequences of the coronavirus crisis and ensuring sustainable, inclusive and high-quality economic development amid the new economic reality and current global trends.

The document was developed following the order of Kazakh President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev by the Ministry of National Economy, jointly with the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms. The plan lays the foundation for fundamental institutional and sectoral reforms aimed at improving the quality of life and well-being of the population. An integral part of the National Plan is a detailed map of specific strategic indicators.

To achieve them, specific measures will be taken to form a new structure of the economy by increasing its self-sufficiency, active promotion of exports, by support and comprehensive development of private entrepreneurship. Particular attention will be paid to improving health and education services, developing infrastructure, productive employment and increasing social well-being of the population.
