Karaganda pharmaceutical complex may export COVID-19 vaccine

Kazakhstan may soon export the Sputnik V vaccine abroad, said Director General of the Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex Sergei Baron in an interview with a Zakon.kz correspondent. There is interest in the vaccine. According to the head of the enterprise, several countries have already contacted him with a request for supplies. But the main task for today is to provide Kazakh residents with the medicine, the expert noted. He also added that the plant will soon be able to supply the entire volume of vaccines ordered by Kazakh Health Ministry. This means they will cover the entire need for the vaccine.

“We are ready to cooperate, but our priority is to provide the population of Kazakhstan with medicines. We have produced 1.2 million doses this month. At the end of May, they will be sent to the unified distributor. In June, we plan to produce about 1.5 million more doses,” said Sergei Baron.
