First batch of Pfizer vaccine to be delivered to Kazakhstan

The first batch of Pfizer vaccine has already been sent to Kazakhstan. It will be delivered by November 15, said Kazakh Health Minister Alexey Tsoy during the Government’s meeting. According to him, more than four million doses of this vaccine were purchased to prevent coronavirus. The first batch is expected to amount to 379,000 doses of vaccine.

“In order to provide vaccination for children, pregnant and lactating women, 4,230,000 doses of the vaccine were procured, which will cover 2,115,000 people. Children from 12 to 17 years of age, pregnant women with a gestational age of 16-37 weeks and lactating women 42 days after childbirth are subject to vaccination. Taking into account the peculiarities of the storage of the Comirnaty (Pfizer) vaccine, 34 units of refrigerating equipment were purchased and delivered to 16 regions of the country,” said Alexey Tsoy, Kazakh Health Minister.

In addition, according to the head of the relevant department, booster vaccination against coronavirus will start on November 22. Citizens at risk will be the first.
