Coronavirus cases decrease in Kazakhstan

The epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan began improving. Coronavirus cases decreased in the regions. For example, only 101 people have been infected in Turkistan region since yesterday. This is significantly less compared to the previous day. But it is too early to relax, health workers said, because the number of ambulance calls is not declining. Doctors still have a lot of work. Overall, 341 mobile medical groups are operating in the region.

“It turned out that most of the hospitalized people were not vaccinated and, moreover, neglected the quarantine regime as well as visited crowded places. We all know that the risk of the spread of this disease is very high. Therefore, every citizen should be careful and comply with preventive measures,” said Askar Iskakov, Deputy Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Turkistan Region.

The number of patients in Atyrau region is decreasing as well. 435 people caught the infection there in the past day. To date, 1,780 patients receive treatment in hospitals of the region, more than 8,000 at home. In general, coronavirus has slowed down over the past three days. The main reason is the increase in the number of vaccinated. According to statistics, 123,801 people have received both components of a vaccine in Atyrau since February.

“2,347 people got vaccinated in the region in the last 24 hours. This shows an increase in the population’s activity. In total, 159 vaccination points were opened in the region. 10 of them are mobile. 207,000 people received the first component of vaccine, 158,000 – the second. There is enough vaccine in the region. Another 10,000 doses will arrive on August 17,” informed Yerbol Mendigaliyev, spokesperson for the Healthcare Department of Atyrau Region.
