One in five seriously ill COVID-19 patients in Nur-Sultan are under 40

In Nur-Sultan, one in five coronavirus patients in serious condition is under 40. This was reported by the city’s public health department. Whereas previously citizens over the age of 60 were at risk, now the coronavirus is hitting harder in other age categories. Hence there’s another influx of patients. In total, there are about 2,000 beds in the city’s infectious diseases hospitals. And now more than half of them are occupied. The workload on health workers has also increased significantly. Over 100 patients are currently in intensive care units. Over the past week, the coronavirus infection rate in Nur-Sultan has risen by 43%.
