‘Spartacus’ ballet in Astana Opera

Another cultural event took place in Nur-Sultan. The Astana Opera theatre presented the greatest and most famous ballet by Aram Khachaturyan ‘Spartacus’. The ballet, based on the true events of the history of Rome of the first century BC, tells the story of the revolt of gladiators and slaves. The plot is very closely intertwined with the ideas of heroism, struggle and devoted love. Plus, the author managed to create memorable characters and brilliant mass scenes. The ‘Spartacus’ ballet is a true example of the highest synthesis of music, choreography and decorations. This ballet, which is a centre-piece of the repertoire of many theaters, is presented in three acts. To date, there are about 20 versions of the performance.
