Retail trade volume increases in Kazakhstan

The volume of retail trade in Kazakhstan is growing significantly. Analysts estimate that last year alone it reached 13.5 trillion tenge (US$31.2 billion), an increase of 15.5 percent compared to the same period in 2020. Almaty, Nur-Sultan and East Kazakhstan region account for the bulk of retail sales. Individual entrepreneurs and small companies accounted for a significant volume of retail sales - 4.7 trillion (US$10.8 billion) and 4.2 trillion (US$9.7 billion), respectively.
