Harvest work in Kazakhstan 95% complete

Harvest work in Kazakhstan is almost 95 percent complete, reported at the Government’s meeting. According to Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the situation with the grain harvest is difficult in the whole world this year. Unfavorable weather conditions contributed to the decline in yields. Kazakhstan is no exception. However, despite this, the need for wheat in the country is fully met.

“Kazakhstan is set to bring the gross harvest of grains and oilseeds to 18 million tonnes, including 16 million tonnes of cereals and legumes. To date, harvest work is almost 95 percent complete. Despite the fact that this year the volume of wheat decreased due to the drought, the domestic demand for wheat in the country is fully met. We are able to export nearly 6.5 million tonnes. The quality indicators of the new harvest have significantly grown. High-quality wheat with over 28 percent gluten reached 74 percent of the harvest. The demand for such high-quality wheat is high in the world market,” said Askar Mamin, Kazakh Prime Minister.

During the meeting, Askar Mamin instructed governors of regions and the Ministry of Agriculture to complete harvest work as soon as possible.
