Uzbekistan plans to adopt Kazakhstan’s experience in construction

Uzbekistan plans to learn from Kazakhstan’s experience in construction. The corresponding memorandum between the two countries has already been signed. In particular, experts from the Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture will share their knowledge of earthquake-resistant construction and vibration dynamic testing with their Uzbek counterparts. Three years ago, Kazakh scientists had already conducted in Tashkent a unique wear test for a nine-storey building, which was later introduced as a model project under the ‘Affordable Housing’ program in Uzbekistan.

“In these matters, we are one of the leaders not only in Central Asia, but also in the post-Soviet countries. That’s why they turned to us. A delegation came and studied the experience of our system of estimate norms. They really liked how our work is organized, so they decided to invite Kazakh specialists,” said Arman Khassen, spokesperson, Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture.

In addition, Uzbekistan intends to follow Kazakhstan’s experience in pricing, information modeling and the implementation of international standards in the construction sector.

“They were also interested in BIM technology. These are information modeling technologies in construction and modern design technology. These works are planned to be carried out by the end of the year and during the following year. The country’s prestige in this area is increasing due to the fact that we are expanding our scope of scientific and technical assistance to the neighboring country,” shared Arman Khassen, spokesperson, Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture.

In 2019, Turkmenistan also made a similar request to Kazakh professionals. However, due to the pandemic, this issue has been put on hold. The Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture has been given the status of the Basic Organization in the field of earthquake-resistant construction of the CIS countries. This makes the organization a single platform for the exchange of experience among research institutes of the CIS countries.
