Agriculture to become driver of Kazakhstan’s economy

The main task of the agro-industrial complex is to fully provide the country with basic foodstuffs. The complex can become one of the key growth  points of the national economy. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed this in his state-of-the-nation address. There are currently many successful projects implemented in the agricultural sector. For example, in Atyrau region there are several enterprises focused on the processing of local raw materials and the production of finished products. A natural juice factory is one of them.

“We use German equipment for the production of natural juice. We produce two tonnes per day. In the future we plan to make our own lemonade and kvass,” shared farmer Vladimir Rozmetov.

Exotic fruits - lemons - have been planted in the Makhambet district. The first crop is scheduled to be harvested by November. Then, in addition to apple juice, one and a half tonnes of lemon juice will be produced there per day. Potatoes, onions and many other vegetables are also grown in the region. There’s a well-developed greenhouse facility, and there’s also a poultry farm with a production capacity of one million eggs a year.

“Seven projects are being implemented in the Makhambet district. There is a poultry farm under construction where broiler chickens will be grown. Production capacity is two and a half tonnes. Greenhouses are being developed where tomatoes and cucumbers are planned to be grown. In addition, vegetables will be canned there and sent to the market,” said Rinat Dzhanglishov, Governor of Makhambet District of Atyrau Region.

Agricultural producers in Atyrau intend to bring the quality of their products to world standards and conquer foreign markets.
