Domestic tourism in Kazakhstan grows by 10 percent in a year

Domestic tourism is becoming the driver of development. Kazakh residents are increasingly choosing to spend their holidays in their homeland instead of foreign beaches. As a result, the industry grew by almost 10.5 percent over the previous year. In terms of figures, this means that about 930,000 citizens have chosen to spend their vacation in Kazakhstan. This data is provided by the ranking.kz information portal. Despite the influx of tourists, there is no shortage of rooms in Kazakh hotels at domestic resorts. The average price per person in the regions of the country increased from 8,000 to 8,500 tenge (from US$19 to US$20). The most expensive hotels are in Mangystau region, and the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan, where price ranges from 11,500 to 12,000 tenge (from US$27 to US$29). The cheapest accommodation is in Aktobe, East Kazakhstan and Kostanai regions.
