International handicraft exhibition

About 300 pieces of handiwork were presented at the handicraft exhibition in Ankara. The event was organized by members of the club established by the wife of the Kazakh Ambassador to Turkey. All the works displayed in the exhibition were created over the course of four years, Gulbanu Syrgabayeva said. The exposition features paintings made of silk threads, jewelry made from natural stones and works embroidered in Turkish style. Through art, it is possible to convey details of national traditions and to popularize them in the world, the organizers say.  This is how, through applied art, the culture of the Kazakh people in Turkey is represented, and the Kazakh people learn more about the customs of other peoples.

“The members of the club not only learned Turkish techniques in embroidery, which is a very difficult craft, but also created such wonderful works at the highest level. This work requires patience and perseverance. I myself admire and am proud of the members of the club. Despite the pandemic, this cooperation has brought us a good mood,” said Rumeysa Dogan, resident of Ankara, Turkey.
