Violators of self-isolation regime in Kazakhstan face heavy fine

From June 10, Kazakh residents with ‘red’ status, deliberately violating the self-isolation regime, will face a large fine. They will be identified through the Ashyq information platform, the press-service of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee informed.

“If a citizen, knowing of his or her infection, violates the self-isolation regime, and willfully endangers others, he or she is liable to an administrative fine of 30 MCI or 87,510 tenge (US$204),” the statement says.

The Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee hopes that administrative fines will help control the spread of coronavirus infection among the Kazakh population.
