Kazakhstan celebrates State Symbols Day on June 4th

Today is the Day of State Symbols of Kazakhstan. The official attributes of the sovereign state – flag, emblem and anthem – were approved in 1992. They reflect the unity, freedom, harmony, traditions and values of the people living in the independent country, and its centuries-old history.

“Our symbol reflects the traditions, the history of the Kazakh people as a whole, one might say, of the Great Steppe culture. Therefore, our emblem, our flag, our anthem always reflect our freedom, our independence, as well as a humanistic point of view. The most peace-loving people live in Kazakhstan,” said Zhandarbek Malibekov, the author of Kazakhstan’s state emblem.
