Kazakhstan to increase financing of science through subsoil users

It is planned to increase financing of Kazakh science at the expense of subsoil users by 25 percent. Moreover, on an annual basis. According to the rules, companies must allocate 1 percent of their own mining costs for research work. Until now, subsoil users have independently chosen scientific institutions for funding. According to Kazakh Ministry of Energy, in the next two years, they plan to completely centralize all deductions, creating a separate budget program for this. The state will independently distribute this money for scientific activities. All funded projects will begin to undergo state scientific and technical expertise. The department noted that such measures will increase the transparency of deductions. It is also planned to open 15 scientific laboratories and ten research centers on these funds at domestic universities.
