Kazakhstan to digitally transform its tourism industry

Digital gates, interactive travel guide maps, mobile applications for travelers. Everything is for tourists’ convenience. Kazakhstan is working on the systematic digital transformation of the tourism industry. According to experts, this way, it is possible not only to achieve a tourist “boom”, but also preserve natural, biological, historical and cultural wealth of the country in original form.

“The idea of Qazaq Geography association is also to develop digital infrastructure, namely through a digital platform that will allow monitoring the ecosystem, fire hazard, as well as biodiversity. It is necessary to conduct forecast and monitor tourists. The digital platform can be upgraded into a mobile application, so that tourists do not have to download any materials from websites, they will be able to use one common base that will be the property of natural, historical and cultural depository,” said Aida Tabelinova, General Manager of Qazaq Geography Association.

Digital technologies are becoming an important part of the tourism culture of Kazakhstan. With the help of modern interactive opportunities, it is possible to carry out virtual 3D tours to the most popular tourist sites and get acquainted with the architectural objects and the rich chronicle of the country of the Great Steppe. For example, the national website kazakhstan.travel presents a number of special digital platforms, including “Altyn Orda”, “Tourstat.kz” and “E-konak”.
