K. Tokayev promotes to ranks of generals military, police, national security committee staff

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev promoted Kazakh military men and police officers to ranks of Generals, the Akorda website reported. The awarding ceremony took place on the eve of the Defender of the Fatherland Day. 19 people received General ranks, four – the third class rank of State Counselor of Justice, and one person was awarded the highest qualification class of Category 3. The promotion to military ranks and the awarding of distinguished militaries on this day has become a tradition. Exactly 29 years ago, the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev issued a decree on the creation of the Armed Forces. In 2012, amendments were made to the legislation, according to which May 7 was declared a public holiday, the Defender of the Fatherland Day. This day has been a day off in Kazakhstan since 2013.
