Almaty to strengthen quarantine restrictions

New quarantine restrictions are being introduced in the city of Almaty. Thus, shopping and entertainment centers will not work on Saturdays and Sundays. On holidays, they will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on weekdays until 9 p.m. Food markets will also be closed on weekends. From March 20 until the end of the holidays, public transport in the city will run until 10 p.m. Medeu Skating Rink will also be completely closed for public skating. A ban has been imposed on the operation of rehabilitation offices for children and education centers.

Cinemas, theatres, concert halls and circus will also be temporarily shut down. Sporting events will be held without spectators. Almaty region also intends to tighten quarantine measures in view of rising coronavirus infection rates. It will impose the full lockdown on weekends.
