Event marks 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence

An international scientific-practical virtual conference ‘The Great Steppe and Kazakh Statehood: Modern Approaches and New Views’ was held in Nur-Sultan. The event was attended by domestic and foreign historians, university professors, doctoral and master’s degree students. This is one of the first events organized as part of the ‘Cultural Code of Independence’ project.

“This event is part of a large project that is being carried out in the Library of the First President of Kazakhstan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country’s Independence. The project is called the ‘Cultural Code of Independence’. It includes acquaintance with our contemporaries, including writers and scholars, who have made a significant contribution to the development of our independence. We plan to hold a series of such events before the end of the year, during which we will acquaint our public with the achievements of our prominent contemporaries,” said Bakytzhan Temirbolat, Director, Library of First President of Kazakhstan.

As part of the conference, there was a presentation of new books by а famous scientist, historian and professor Burkitbai Ayagan ‘History of Ulug Ulus - the Golden Horde’. New books published in Kazakh and Russian reveal one of the landmark periods in the history of Kazakh statehood.

“The history of the Golden Horde, like many pages of our national history, has not yet been fully explored. Today, we would like to do our part to fill these empty spaces in the history of our country and our statehood as a whole,” shared Bakytzhan Temirbolat, Director, Library of First President of Kazakhstan.
