National Museum unveils Kazakh crafts’ exhibition entitled ‘Traditions and Time’

An exhibition of Kazakh arts and crafts entitled “Traditions and Time” was opened in the capital. The best works of craftspeople from different regions of the country are presented there. Each exhibit reflects the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people. The items made of felt and leather, as well as various tapestries and ceramics are among the displayed works. The visitors are also presented with an installation of the yurt interior design according to all the nomadic traditions. It is worth adding that the exhibition will run until September 11 and it’s available for everyone to visit.

“We brought works made in a new style to the exhibition. They reflect the traditions of our ancestors that we want to promote as the cultural heritage of the people among the younger generation. Each work speaks for itself and has an educative nature,” said craftswoman Venera Beisbekova.

“I am very happy to see the progress of our national arts, because I believe that these kinds of arts should be preserved and move forward. Generally speaking, the decorative and applied arts of the Kazakh people are very interesting and rich. Their variety ranges from felting and embroidery to jewelry art. I am glad to see that our young artists have mastered all this and use the same technology and ornaments in their works,” history PhD holder Shaizada Tokhtabayeva noted.
