Entrepreneur makes QR clothing brand promoting history of Kazakhstan

How to tell about the history of your country and make a national brand? A resident of Nur-Sultan Daniyar Baltashev makes T-shirts that provide information about the legendary figures of Kazakhstan. He chose an up-to-date method by applying a QR code to them. The scan shows a link to the website with a biography and historical data. The project author named his debut collection ‘Abylai Khan’.

“I’m wearing a T-shirt from the ‘Abylai Khan’ collection, which includes 12 personalities. These are three khans – Kerei and Zhanibek, Kenesary and Abylai; national intellectuals Alikhan Bokeikhan, Akhmet Baitursynov, Saken Seifullin; poets and scientists, including Shokan Ualikhan, Abai Kunanbaiuly and Bukhar Zhyrau; and Kazakh Soviet figures Aliya Moldagulova, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly and Dinmukhamed Konayev,” project author Daniyar Baltashev said.

Soon, the businessman is planning to release a line of kids’ clothes and a collection of the QR clothes about ancient cities of Kazakhstan and the country’s historical events. The T-shirts are already quite popular among local and foreign buyers.

“All-in-all, I really like the history of our country. We could see that the history of Kazakhstan and the national color got more and more popular in recent years. We have foreign customers as well, and I think this is impactful, since these clothes popularize the history of our country and our identity as a whole. These T-shirts portray our mentality, I would say,” added Baltashev.

The young and aspiring entrepreneur aims at expanding his production. Nevertheless, Baltashev stressed, the project has educational nature – to tell as many people as possible about the history of the Great Steppe.
