Kazakhstan ranks Top 3 at Chennai Chess Olympiad

Kazakhstan entered the top 3 at the Chess Olympiad, which is taking place in the Indian city of Chennai. This was made possible after the victory of the country’s women's team over Bulgaria in the ninth round. Zhansaya Abdumalik and Guliskhan Nakhbayeva won their chess games, while the matches of Bibissara Assaubayeva and Xeniya Balabayeva ended in a draw. At present, the team has seven wins, a draw and a defeat. Meanwhile, the men's team of Kazakhstan lost to Serbia with a score of 1-3. The confrontation of the world’s best chess players continues. Today, Kazakh chess players will play with the top team of India. The athletes view this match as the most crucial one.

“Today’s chess game starts at 3:30 pm Kazakhstan time and ends at around 8:30 - 09:00 pm. And tomorrow the game will start at 10.30 am and will end approximately by 3:00 or 3.30 pm. And then everything will beсome clear, as the organizers will announce all the results,” Anuar Ismagambetov, Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, said.

The international Chess Olympiad is held every two years. This year, about 190 countries took part in the chess tournament.
