Over one million Kazakh residents receive social benefits every year

Over one million Kazakh citizens receive social benefits annually, General Director of the State Social Insurance Fund Nursulu Kemel announced. Kazakh citizens receive financial assistance from the state in five main areas. The list of residents who can count on social benefits includes those who have lost their breadwinner, those who lost the ability to work, including due to childbirth and pregnancy, as well as people who are left without income due to the fact that they need to care for a child under one year old. Individual entrepreneurs, private practitioners and citizens who make a single cumulative payment can also count on social benefits. There are two ways to apply for benefits, such as through Public Service Centers and online. The compulsory social insurance was introduced in Kazakhstan17 years ago.

“Official employment is of great significance, because as soon as a person is officially employed, an employment contract is concluded, which puts the employer under a social obligation to the employee. The social deductions payment is made on a monthly basis, until the 25th of any given month, following the reporting month, without any conclusion of any additional agreements with the fund, on the basis of Unique Identification Number,” said Kemel.
