Kazakh scientists make whey-based healing drink

Kazakh scientists developed a technology for the production of a milk whey-based health drink. Eco-product does not contain any chemical additives. In addition, the technology allows the reuse of waste from dairy plants, which amount to approximately 200 in the country. Each of the plants produces up to seven tonnes of waste daily, which most often are not disposed of. According to the technology, pathogenic microorganisms are removed from the whey and lactobacilli are added, since they normalize digestion. The center of microbiology and virology carried out the work on the invention for several years.

“We use the microorganisms that destroy the opportunistic intestinal flora. Then we add beneficial bacteria, and the health drink is almost ready. We hope that our innovative technology will receive the necessary support, and Kazakhstan will have waste-free production of dairy products. We conduct both the technology of production and sourdough. The process includes fermentation and carrying out all the necessary microbiological processes. The final stage is bottle filling and distribution,” said Amangeldy Sadanov, PhD in Biological Sciences.

According to experts, a regular consumption of this health drink improves the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Four more types of whey drink are currently being developed.
