Kazakh capital holds Festival of Military Orchestras

The Askeri Kernei annual festival of military bands kicked off in Kazakh capital. Musicians from nine military units of the country will march in the main squares and boulevards of Nur-Sultan during three days. The orchestras of the National Guard Academy, as well as the metropolitan and regional commands of the National Guard "Ontustik", "Ortalyk", "Batys" and "Shygys", are among them. In addition, the final part of the event will be a parade of the Presidential Orchestra, the combined orchestra of the border service of the National Security Orchestra and the Central Orchestra of the Kazakh Defense Ministry. The ninth festival is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Kazakh police. According to the event organizers, the cultural event will traditionally feature compositions of different styles and genres ranging from classical music to rock.

“The main task of the military music festival is to support the education of our younger generation, to instill love and patriotism for the Motherland. The orchestra's repertoire is very diverse, the main thing is that our orchestras perform in the open air, and we both perform and demonstrate our combatant techniques. The repertoire also includes pop, folk and popular music,” said Askhat Mukhamediyarov, Head of Military Band Center, Kazakhstan National Guard.
