Astana Opera ballet troupe goes on summer tour in Turkistan and Shymkent

Astana Opera theatre went on a unique tour to southern Kazakhstan. Right around the corner, on June 7 and 8, the performers of the theatre plan to present a masterpiece of Michel Fokine’s romantic ballet ‘Chopiniana’ to the audience of Shymkent, one of the largest cities of the country. Two days earlier, they performed for the residents of the spiritual capital of the Turkic world with the play ‘Scheherazade’. Spectators in Turkistan warmly welcomed the troupe, appreciating the performances reflecting the beauty and mystery of the East. The summer tour program also includes classical, neoclassical and modern performances, noted the artistic director of the Astana Opera ballet troupe Altynai Assylmuratova.
