Medical trains in Kazakhstan resume their work

Medical trains in Kazakhstan resume their work from May 23. They will cover around 150 stations of the country. Residents of the most remote villages will receive free medical assistance. Two trains will run across Kazakhstan. The first train ‘Zhardem’ will go from Almaty and will be on the way until November 6, covering Kyzylorda, Atyrau, Mangystau, Turkistan, Zhambyl and West Kazakhstan regions. The second one named ‘Salamatty Kazakhstan’ will run from June 20 to November 2. It will go around Almaty, Kostanai, Karagandy, Pavlodar, East and North Kazakhstan regions.

“The specialized medical train consists of eight cars. There must be a dining car and a car with diesel generator set. The latter is capable of providing a small village with electricity in case of any emergency. Four cars of the medical train are fully equipped with specialized necessary medical appliances. They are responsible for medical assistance. Two compartment cars are made for healthcare teams so that they can live in the train and have all the conveniences,” said Yerbol Kengerbayev, Director, ‘Kazakhstan Temir Zholy’ Social Projects Corporate Fund.

Mobile teams consist of more than 30 specialized doctors, including therapists, dentists, ophthalmologists, mammologists, surgeons and others. The services will be provided as part of the guaranteed free medical assistance and the Mandatory Social Health Insurance set. Residents of villages can get straight to the specialists without a doctor’s referral and get tested or screened.
