Effects of heavy rainfall in Almaty eliminated

The consequences of heavy rain in Almaty, which hit the metropolis the day before, were eliminated. At least 30 infrastructure facilities, 16 residential buildings, and driveways under interchanges on Al-Farabi and other major avenues were flooded, the city’s Emergency Situations Department reported. Mobile brigades of 609 people, 252 units of special equipment and 24 motor pumps are involved in pumping water from the streets. 2,050 sandbags were prepared. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Kazhydromet projected heavy rain with hail and a thunderstorm in the city on May 13 and 14.
