Envelopes commemorating Akhmet Baitursynov and Roza Baglanova issued in Beijing

Commemorative envelopes dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of a scientist Akhmet Baitursynov and the 100th anniversary of a singer Roza Baglanova were presented at the Chinese capital of Beijing. There was also a lecture held as part of the event, during which the younger generation was told about the life and work of the scientist-reformer, the founder of Kazakh linguistics and literary studies. Interesting fact is that the Arabic script-based alphabet compiled by Baitursynov is still used by the Kazakh diaspora living in China.

“The history of friendship between the peoples of China and Kazakhstan goes back thousands of years. Our cooperation is characterized by frequent cultural contacts. We are honored to present commemorative envelopes and through them to introduce Chinese residents, including our children, to the history and rich culture of Kazakhstan. Thus, we wish to contribute to deepening the friendship between our countries,” said Du Min, Executive Director of a company.
