Archery tournament dedicated to Nauryz celebration takes place in Aktau

Events dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz holiday are being held in the regions of Kazakhstan. An open regional archery tournament took place in the city of Aktau as part of the ‘Mangystau Nauryz Fest - 2022’. About 60 archers from Aktau, Zhanaozen, and districts of Mangystau region demonstrated their sharpshooting skills in the competition. Participants competed in three stages. Athletes shot arrows from a distance of 10-20 meters. As the tournament organizers noted, the main goal is to increase the interest of young people in national sports. The Archery Federation in Mangystau region opened in 2020. Around a thousand people are engaged in this sport to date.

“I have experience participating in archery competitions. Before that, I participated in five tournaments, two of which were national. I really like this sport. We are young people who strive to revive national sports,” said tournament competitor Moldir Saurbai.
