Air quality in Almaty to be monitored with special sensors

The microclimate of Almaty city will now be determined using special devices. It is planned to install sensors to measure the quality of air in the metropolis. The Asian Development Bank presented 50 such sensors of the new generation to the city administration. Sensors will identify the main sources of pollution, with the help of which it will be possible to improve the ecological situation in the city, and, therefore, the health of citizens. The devices include solar panels, external protection screens and active network connection for posting real-time air quality data. This data will be available on the websites of Kazhydromet and the ADB project ‘Almaty-Bishkek Economic Corridor’.
