Kazakhstan in for a total reboot, expert says

Kazakhstan will restart social, economic and political areas. Citizens will clearly see the work carried out by the new Government in the coming year. Doctor of Political Sciences, Deputy Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies Sanat Kushkumbayev expressed his opinion in an interview to Qazaq TV. Moreover, not only the authorities should make efforts here, the whole society will be able to be the part in building a new Kazakhstan, he said. During the forthright speech, the country’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined weaknesses in the economy, the political scientist noted. This is oligopoly and conversion to an oligarchy, social inequality and much more.

“The call of the President is to take part altogether, creating a new Kazakhstan and, of course, new changes, those trends that we wanted and would like to see. It was a call, literally a blank slate, a fresh start, where everyone can write down wishes and questions they have. That is, it was a direct dialogue of the President not only with members of the Parliament or with the Government, but it was a direct dialogue with the society, with the Kazakh people,” said Sanat Kushkumbayev, Doctor of Political Sciences, KAZISS Deputy Director.

According to the speaker, this is about comprehensive reforms in all spheres of society. The expert also added that this is not going to happen in a day – changes will take time and effort.
