Kazakhstan to increase number of services available during blackout

The list of available online services during the Internet blackout will be expanded, Acting Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Mussin reported on social media. “Together with the National Bank, other banks and organizations, we worked out a mechanism to provide access to some sources around the clock, regardless of the complete Internet blackout,” – the minister wrote on his Instagram page. Currently, the mobile applications of three major banks of the country are available without Internet connection. At the moment, the department is checking each individual source for the potential use by cybercriminals for illegal purposes, Bagdat Mussin said.
